high quality pics and 1080 vids. I upgraded from a 4 year old sony camera and this one blows it out of the water. Got it for the wife for Christmas and she loves it. Stuck in a 16 GB card and she has 30 minutes of 1080 video power. Price at amazon was by far the best

I was going back and forth between canon 510hs and nikon 8200 and eventually got this camera to replace my old panasonic lumix. The image quality is amazing!!! the zoom is also great. It has been only a few days though; I will update my review after I use this camera for a month.
There are a few problems with the design. 1- flash pops out from the upper left corner. However, It does not come out the moment the camera is turned on. Instead it comes out when the camera detects low light. That causes a problem when you are holding the camera from that corner. 2- you can not charge the darn battery outside the camera – this is also very annoying. The charger is a tiny unit and the cable is very short. So I have to put the camera on the floor close to the power outlet
I would have given 5 stars but the location of the flash and the way that the camera is charged are very annoying. What have you done nikon? Were your designers asleep?

The shipment was fast and well paqaged. The Nikon S8200 camera is as advertised, a point and shoot, nikon quality for your pocket. Dont expect DSLR quality. Clear pictures and nice video in HD. The position of the flash is the only annoying thing, just shouldnt be there, but you can take pictures anyways.
